Resolutions

It’s that time of year, the time when you re-evaluate where you are at and decide to make changes. I don’t know why we all have to wait for a specific time but that seems to be de rigeur. So I’ve been thinking about it and came up with a bunch of resolutions for 2010, feel free to add your own.

1. Finish the Twilight Singers Album

This is a big one. It has been way too long since we have been on the road as the TS, I miss the fans, I miss the venues, hell I even miss the guys in the band. I’d say we are crafting a perfect follow up to Powder Burns and one which I hope you guys enjoy as much as we do, but it takes time and we won’t release it till it feels right. That being said if we aren’t out on the road by the Summer in support of this new album I’s be shocked.

2. Move

Did you ever see that movie where Joe Pesci plays some slumlord who’s forced to live in one of his own buildings? Well that guy looks like a saint compared to my landlord. We are looking to move out into the San Fernando Valley, away from the hipsters, deep in the suburbs, ‘cos folks that’s where I finally am in life and it feels ok.

3. Do More Design

For those that don’t know I am a pretty accomplished print designer, a passion of mine for over 20 years. You may have seen some of my work with the Whigs, TS and the Gutter Twins. Also if you rent porno movies I promise you that you’ve seen my covers. I’ve started doing other bands albums and posters, etc., a trend I hope to continue this year. Email me if I can help you out.

4. Stop Hating So Much

I have little to no tolerance for idiots, and it seems to me that I can’t leave the house without running into them. There’s not a day that goes by when I am relieved I don’t carry a gun anymore (a habit I only stopped 10 years ago), it sure has saved me some serious jail time. I really have to learn to be more tolerant of people, but honestly I have low hopes for this one.

5. Do More Radio Shows

I am working on getting some new hardware for the station and then I hope to have regular weekly shows back on air. In the meantime I will be doing shows sporadically, I probably won’t announce them so I guess you’ll have to stay tuned in. I would love for the station to for this year, more people need to hear good music, I’m going to need your help with this one.

6. Join the Hells Angels

The wife pretty much put the brakes on this one.

So there you go, I’m sure there’s more but honestly I’m way too fucking lazy and if I only get goal #1 done I’ll be happy.

And now this, one of the most brilliant bands I’ve heard in ages…

  1. Though i haven’t really taken any resolution for 2010 yet, these would be a list of what I’d like to apply this year:
    1. Try and overcome all the pain flooding in from 2009 and start living again
    2. Meet Mark Lanegan (that won’t depend on me only, that’s the thing)
    3. Be (even) sweeter to my man
    4. Check out all the concerts I really want to see and get organized
    5. Travel more
    6. Be totally indifferent to people who cause me pain
    7. Move out of Greece (though one, this one, considering we just moved house)
    8. Open up to new horizons musically
    9. Sell my car and ride a bike, a big one, finally
    10. Lower the booze consumption
I think that’s quite a lot of resolutions, and as Scott said, if only i get resolution 1 and 2 done, I’ll be a happy woman…
oh and yeah of course, i almost forgot
    11. get H1N1 influenza virus and get out of it safe and sound to prove them all wrong….i’m tired of propaganda
    that’s all folks!
